When I tried to open XMM it stuck at loading configuration. So I tried the XMM Problem solver and resetting the configuration.

Now every time it comes up to the language selection. Select the language, and it hangs.

Only way to get past it so far is to completely uninstall and wipe directory and do clean install.

This problem has now happened 2 times getting annoying LOL.

I will wait for someone to hopefully give me an answer before I start over again.
(Uninstall again, then delete all files and directories left behind.
Perform install into clean directory.)

Hello again Alessio

I started out using 5.3.4.0

I tried upgrade to 5.3.5.0 with no success when you released.

So I un-installed & cleaned out the program files & that worked for a while.
I have now figured out I can get it running again with what I said in an above post

Thanks for your hard work & quick responses

Hi Guys,

If you have the 4.8 installed you must install the new XMM 5.x from scratch, in a new folder, this because the two releases are not compatible!

If you upgrade the 5.3.5.0 from a 5.x release and you have these problems, please launch the little application "XMM Problem solver" and let me know.

Btw, I think I have found the problem, it's related to grid's configuration, I am trying to fix it now...

Let me know,

Alessio

I have figured out I kind of work around faster than having to import files from back-ups.

1. Do a complete un-install thru Windows

2. Delete all files from C:\Program Files\eXtreme Movie Manager accept Backups, Chains, databases & configuration files. This seems to leave most everything in place so that you don't have to start over.

3. Install latest eXmm.

4. All should be fine for a while. I have had to do this 4 times since purchasing on Sunday. I am getting pretty good at it LOL

Hopefully a real fix will come soon I really like to program. Not sure how long I will keep trying.

I may try to delete folders one at a time & then copy from a known clean file copied form clean install. Maybe I can find the file or files causing problem this way.

Good Luck

Ps. I have gotten most of my movie collection cataloged even with issues. It works great when not locking up on start.

Same Problem here. Freezes up on loading configuration. I guess I'll have to do a fresh install also. Doesn't work to just delete and install older version. Same freeze up.

Yes I think one gets corrupted somehow. If it happens again I will try to narrow it down to the one it is.

Thanks for your quick responses Alessio

Problem seems to not need a complete wipe of directory.

I uninstalled & then just deleted a few files & folders from directory & did a new full install. After this it worked perfect. Next time I will try one folder at a time to find the issue.

Thanks

I am now using 5.3.5.0 with no real issues.

I started out with 5.3.4.0 as a new registered user Sunday.

You can found the 5.3.3.0 here:

http://www.binaryworks.it/files/extrememm5.3b3update.exe

but I mean if the old releases was working or not in your PC, this to better understand where the problem can be.

Are you saying I need to go back to an earlier release? If yes where do I get the release?
