Posted - 02 Oct 2006 : 18:22:19 Hi, Have just started with 5.3.9 and am trying to import TV series. A couple of problems. 1)Once a series has been imported, it does not immediately appear in the left hand colum. Switching from movies to TV shows and back does not help. Surely the first thing after completing an import should be to refresh the LH column? 2) There seems to be no way of editing the season. (I hope it does not have to be a text field?) I can see how to edit the Show title and hte episode titles but not the seasopn title. 3) Processing seems slower when the title of the episode is blank. In this case the episode title is set to ", The" which seems a little odd. Otherwise its all working fine for me. Great stuff.

Posted - 08 Oct 2006 : 16:37:25 maybe i should read the whole forum before i post, e.g: http://www.binaryworks.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2030 ;)
i think i will work on doing a mass import of my dvds (movies & tv series), dvdrs and hard discs, i will, if there is no objection write down what i miss, maybe to provide ideas of what to improve, or for a better faq, cause i think the faqs are a little upgradeable ^^ |

Posted - 08 Oct 2006 : 12:55:12 Is it possible to assign certain DVD files to a certain episode? I only found the hard disc file search. e.g: I have the original Lost S1ep1 inside, which is on the dvd with the 3 follow ups (eps 2 - 4). i just want to point to the correct .vob file. am I blind or to stupid to do it, or is it just not implemented yet?
The whole thing is done on the tv series page, with tv series brought into the DB via tv.com.
as i am importing a lot of actors right now, I cant really check anything atm.

Posted - 04 Oct 2006 : 11:07:33 Alessio 1) I will mail you my test database for TV shows. 2) Ihave just noticed that when I converted from XMM4 to XMM5 some of my movies have been converted to TV shows!! (or at least appear under the TV show tab and not under the movie tab). For example I have 15 James Bond Movies. 8 now appear under the TV show tab and have been allocated series numbers (3,4,8,11,12,16,17,18); they are not visible under the movie tab The remainder are visible under the movie tab under their catalogue number. There are some questions: How do I get the entries out of the TV show and back into movies? When I add the catalogue number to the fields to display, it is blank as is the media field and several others. It would be good to see the TV showe under catalogue whenever information was presented by catalogue number. IMHO separation into Movie and TV is only for ease of maintaining TV show information (Series and Episode)

Thank you, I will fix this

Has you have see, the Season can be only a number for now, and XMM read this value directly from the episodes.
quote: 3) Processing seems slower when the title of the episode is blank. In this case the episode title is set to ", The" which seems a little odd.
What do you mean exactly? Do you have empty titles when you import from internet? can you write me an example of a show?
O quote: therwise its all working fine for me. Great stuff.
Thank you!
About TV.COM, I have test it now with "Lost" tv show, and seem to be OK, please write me an example of a show that gives errors.
Thank you again,

Posted - 02 Oct 2006 : 19:04:55 Import from Web seems dubious. Using TV.COM script, I select the series (it wont let me select any lower level of detail in the web import window). I then get a message List of series FOund select only one - except that there is no list of series> Then clicking 'Selected Links' produces Error downloading the #OPENWEBSLOT1#, are you still connected to the internet messsage and then eventually one can close the web import window.
The IMDB script finds the series (Dr Who 2005 series 2) and completes OK. But rather than match each episode of the series with the existing database record it writes another set of database records (which all have the title of the last episode). Did I misunderstand something? Sorry to ramble on. KR R

Posted - 02 Oct 2006 : 18:24:27 Ahha - found out where to edit the season and it seems it has to be a number. Shame. Any good reason for this? |
