Posted - 11 Feb 2007 : 18:53:37 What does:
13 - String was not recognized as a Valid Date Time...
After importing my old 4.8 DB many of my movies flash the above error. I assume that 5.0 does not like a date field somewhere in the old database. 1. Can this be corrected? 2. When I import old v4 databases shouldn't v5 do some sort of data integrity/correction checks?

Was hoping that eventually this problem would get resolved but just installed 6.0.9.0 and the missing data in fields when in full edit still exists.
I really do miss v4.8, when things worked. Sorry but I have not been able to use XMM since installing v5+.

Posted - 30 Aug 2007 : 23:58:20 Gratz Alessio it looks like the 13 - String is no longer showing!
Unfortunately full edit is still blanking out some fields under Details. In QuickEdit everything is fine but open in full edit and random fields under Details are blanked out.
Please don't give up!

Posted - 04 Aug 2007 : 06:40:56 Hi dlomneck,
Alessio and I did a lot of back and forth and we were never able to resolve the issue, sorry. I thought it was only my DB but I discovered that even the sample database that bundles with XMM was also producing the 13 - String error.
One other side effect I encountered, when opening movies with the 13 - String error some fields would become blank. An example, I view a movie and the Photographer field is filled with data. The data shows in my MovieCard and Quick Edit views. However, I open that movie in full edit (double click the movie) and the field would sometimes become blank. If that or any other field becomes blank while in Full Edit it will blank out the old data, if I save & exit. It does not happen 100% of the time and it's not always the same field. It appears to only occur with fields under Details. Fields like, Photographer, Studio and Music seem to be the most common. Have you encountered anything similar?
Thanks!

Posted - 16 Jul 2007 : 04:40:34 Was there every any solution to this? This shows up at the bottom of every movie I have in my database. Using the newest version of EMM. Thanks
Dave
Edit: More Details: It's not happening on every movie. I did a fresh install last week. I entered 100 movies on the 12th of July, 2007. Today, on the 15th of July 2007, I added 25 more. These 25 more are showing the error after I update them with IMDB. The error I get before IMDB updating is "13-Conversion from string "15/07/2007" to type "Date" is not valid..."
I noticed the IMDB script was updated on the 13th, so I updated it, but that did not fix it . Please let me know what to do. I'm waiting on this before I catalog any more movies. Thank you.
Dave
Edit 2: if I change the date back on my computer to the 12th, the problem goes away. The problem seems to be with the "last modify:" field, as I can set the rest to any date, but it only works if the "last modify:" field is set back to the 12th.
Pretty sure it's because of the date format... if you are in mm/dd/yyyy format the 12/7/2007 and 7/12/2007 are both "valid" dates. However, if you use todays date of the 16th, the 16/7/2007 in mm/dd/yyyy becomes invalid. When I go into look at the "extra" tab... last modify shows up at 12/7/2007 and date of insert shows up at 7/12/2007, so something got mixed up there. Hope you can fix it :) Thanks
Here's a screenshot, notice the date in different format:
Plus, my "quick edit view" tab shows a different date from my "right click" and the click "edit" function. Something is definitely wrong here, and I think it is on the "quick edit view" tab on the main screen. Let me know if i can give you more assistance. |

Posted - 11 Feb 2007 : 19:28:07 Hi TimC,
You are right of course, the import function *should* correct the invalid date.
If you can, please send to me your new database (ZIP it first)
Thank you,
Alessio |
