Hi there,

I am just testing XMM and tried now to enter a tv-serie. So I have entered "Dr. Psycho" and the script found it on IMDB. But after the download has finished, I noticed, that the title was snipped. On the IMDB-Page the title is correct "Dr. Psycho - Die Bösen, die Bullen, meine Frau und ich". In XMM I see just the part after the "ö" - sen, die Bullen, meine Frau und ich". I know this problem also from MP3Tag when using those german special characters.

Is there any workaround or other solution in XMM to get proper informations, even if the title contains such "umlauts"?

I tried also to import titles using such lettes in Movie Library and that was working correctly.

Please let me have some suggestions.

I think it's not only a script based problem, because same goes with the windows folder paths, XMM can not read them.

I made a further explanation and another notice (random movie selection) in this link: http://www.binaryworks.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3878

I have exactly the same problem. Not only with the movie titles but also with actors and everything that I import from imdb. I see all the info with special characters fine in mozilla and IE but not inside XMM.

There must be something wrong with the app's Unicode support. Can we have some feedback on this?

Hello, did you found anything regarding this bug? Maybe it's not a bug in the software itself, but belongs to global settings for internet-access, but I have no idea.

Hello again,
maybe the problem belongs to the character-Set. In Firefox e.g. it's set to ISO8859-1. On some pages are to Unicode UTF-8. On some pages, where the character-set has been set wrong, also the special characters are displayed the wrong way. But I am not sure, if XMM uses any setting for retrieving informations from online-sources.
