to get an answer in this forum?
i wrote you, alessio, in an email, i posted on this forum.
what does it take to get an answer?

i have firefox as my default browser.

however, xmm, opens ALL links to external sites ("web link" and "official web") either in its own window or in IE.
the only thing that opens in firefox is the IE-icon that opens that is labeled "open moviecard in IE".

how can it be changed that both web link and official web open ALWAYS in the DEFAULT BROWSER and never in xmm and most certainly never ever in IE (unless of course it is the default browser)?

am i missing a setting or is this a bug?

@Harald

I'm using XP SP2.
Firefox is opened by left-clicking on the link.
Firefox is the default browser.
xMM is running with default settings.

Bye

thanks for the info, mawu.

are you using xp or vista?
does it open in firefox just by left-clicking on the external link, or do you have to right-click first and select "open in new window"?

did you change any of xmm's default settings that might effect that behaviour?

i am using the same versions as you do under xp and it always opens in IE...

@harald

Here everything works fine with firefox (xMM 6.0.8.0, Firefox 2.0.0.11)

thanks for your response, alessio.

i did not receive an email. i do have a spam filter and i usually check all spam if anything slipped through.

i must have missed it.

regarding the problem:
by design the links should open in the default browser?
it is not hard-coded into xmm that they open in IE?

i am positive firefox is my default browser. all links in other programs open in firefox. i am a software deveoper, btw, so i know how to configure my system properly.

does nobody else who has firefox as their default browser see this problem with version 6.0.8.0?

cheers, harald
