Posted - 29 May 2009 : 08:22:45 I just noticed that when I "Activate" version 7 over the internet, Version 6.8 becomes unregistered (goes back to the 50 movie shareware limit). If I reactivate version 6, then version 7 deactivates. I don't know if this is a bug, or intentional, but till version 7 gets all the bugs out, it would be nice to keep both versions activated on the same system.

Hi,
This is really strange, there are no reason for that, i haven't change the authentication "procedures" from 6.8.x to 7.x
Have you installed the 7.x in a new folder, not in the old 6.x, right?
Alessio
Ver6.8.3 is installed in "D:\Program Files\Extreme Movie Manager" With it's data in "My Documents\Extreme Movie Manager". My Documents being a network shared folder on my dedicated file server computer that can be accessed by all the computers in my house.
Version 7.0.2.9 is installed to "D:\Program Files\Extreme Movie Manager 7\" along with it's data.
Just thought I'd let you know. I updated Version 7 to 7.0.3.0 and this is still happening. |

Hi Mike,
No, it's not intentional. Probably you are using a very old release of 6.x
If you install the latest 6.8.3 you will not have these kind of problems.

6.8.3 is the version that this is happening with. It only started when I updated the co-installed version 7 to 7.0.2.9. Before that both 6.8.3 and 7.0.2.3 co-existed just fine. |
