Posted - 08 Jul 2009 : 20:32:33 I posted about this issue a couple of months ago, and it still happens. If I go into TVShows and use the Column Chooser to select which columns I want to display, theses selections are not remembered the next time I open XMM - all available columns return.
Sort Order is not remembered, either. That is, if I choose to Sort By Season, that selection doesn't stick the next time I open the program. I used to think this was tied to installing new versions of the program over old versions, but that's not the case, I find.
Thanks for any help. |

Posted - 01 Aug 2009 : 01:07:15 It seemed to work for a while for me too, but suddenly all the tv shows columns were back :( It's really annoying removing all those columns you don't want again and again.. Hope it will be fixed soon
PS: I can fix the columns, quit the program, start up again and the columns are OK.. So I have no idea why suddenly they just get messed up |

Posted - 25 Jul 2009 : 17:14:25 I guess I spoke too soon. I don't know why, but when I opened XMM this morning to add some TV episodes, all the columns were back again. Do you have any other suggestions? |

Posted - 23 Jul 2009 : 02:15:43 Thanks so much, Alessio - it looks like whatever you did this time has worked. After opening and closing XMM several times, the columns I chose are still in place. |

Posted - 22 Jul 2009 : 08:09:43 Hi Cxp36,
This morning I will put online a new release. I have change the save procedure again, I hope this time it will work.
Now, when you press the save button, XMM will also save the layout (and not only at exit, like before).
Pleaase let me know if will work.

Posted - 21 Jul 2009 : 19:19:27 No, nothing in event viewer. No matter what I try, I can't get XMM to save my column selections for TV shows, and I have no idea why.
- Removing columns using the Column Chooser, then hitting Save does not work. - Reorganizing the columns (removing none), then hitting Save does not work. - Reorganizing or removing columns and saving the result as a new layout does not work.
After the last point release it looked like it was working, but then it reverted to "all columns" again and I'm back at square one with this problem. It frustrating because I have many, many TV shows and episodes on my media server and I need this feature to work.

Posted - 21 Jul 2009 : 00:38:26 Drat, that would have been too easy :-) I just tried it on mine though and it removed the season column and saved the setting (I had to add it back after I restarted) Can you check under event viewer Right Click My computer >Manage and look under event viewer and see if there are any errors there? Red X's or yellow warnings? I suspect that something isn't writing back correctly on your install. |

Posted - 21 Jul 2009 : 00:29:50 Hello JustME. No, I'm using XP SP3, and I have full Administrative privileges, so I don't think that's the problem. |

Posted - 20 Jul 2009 : 23:59:05 Are you using Vista or Windows 7 by any chance? It's possible that the settings aren't being saved. Even XP installs sometimes don't seem to give the users admin rights to everything and things work better with the admin acct. Can you run EMM with the admin acct by any chance to check for permission issues? |

Posted - 20 Jul 2009 : 20:49:44 I have updated to 7.0.38, and although the "XMM forgets column selections" bug was supposedly fixed with this release, I'm still having the exact same problem.
Open XMM, select TV show, choose desired columns. Close XMM, restart XMM, select TV show, all possible columns are showing again.
Can this be fixed? Is there some setting I am missing? |

Posted - 09 Jul 2009 : 22:16:51 This didn't work for me. I tried choosing columns from the main window, and also in Quick Edit window as you suggested, but after selecting the columns I want, then closing and re-staring XMM, all the columns are back again. |
