When you choose duplicate movies from within the Advanced Filters section (advanced mode) it seems to check on movie name only as it will also indicate movies with the same name but from different years as duplicates (like ie. the movie Beowulf which has a release from 1999 and one from 2007)!

yep, so if they are different movies by the same name, you need to put the year in so it differentiates them.
