Installed XMM under windows 7, 32 bit. Received a notice from update that new scripts were available, and to click on update at notice flyout message. When I did this the update checker opened, checked for updates, then closed - unexpectedly. The program needed to be closed and re-launched in order to check for updates. This time I went to help and update, then all went wellWas able to update the scripts, after which the update assistant then closed.
Could you possibly remove the 'auto-close' feature from the updates (or look into what would cause the shutdown of the update window
