Posted - 28 Aug 2010 : 08:10:49 Using IMDB (Complete). While doing a batch update, about 20% of the time, I get the following error:
--------------------------- Please check Internet Connection and FIREWALL! --------------------------- Error downloading the #OPENWEBSLOT1#, are you still connected to internet?
Please check if your FIREWALL is blocking eXtreme Movie Manager!!! --------------------------- OK ---------------------------
It is always during the actor import portion (in the middle of the actors).
Is there a timeout that can be increased (by the user)?

I will try to do that... btw its not a "bug", is XMm that cannot access internet sometime.

Posted - 30 Aug 2010 : 05:10:50 Prinz, yes that sounds great... some kind of an automatic retry and an errorcode if the retry failed. At least then you could sort by CUSTOM4 (or whatever) and know instantly which movies need to be cleaned and retried. |

Posted - 29 Aug 2010 : 17:24:53 One Magic Script Suggestion:
After execution of the Functions:
#OPENNEWWEB# #OPENWEBSLOT1#...#OPENWEBSLOT5#
Set a variable
#ERRORCODE#
0 = all ok other number = error
This way the script could handle errors, for example: retry the download 1-2 times or ignore the slot and the script could also set for example the field CUSTOM4 (that drop-down field is not used for anything) to error or ok.
Of course the Bug still should be fixed. |

Yes because the actor gets added with incomplete information (all the information from the failing Webslot is missing). |

Posted - 29 Aug 2010 : 08:18:14 Hello, guys,
right now I have "silent" the error (7.0.7.8), I will try to investigate better why XMM cannot download these information sometimes.
Thank you,

Posted - 29 Aug 2010 : 05:35:58 I agree but I would rather have a log of the messages and not a windows to click all the time.....
Prinz, so I need to delete all the actors for each movie that fails and then try again? Crap, I had just been keeping track of the errors and done an update individually after the batch run completed... I hope I can find my own notes...
Suggestion, a field devoted to errors and description... then people could choose to view that column and sort it so they can see what errored out and why and then take care of it. |

Biggest problem is that the Data isn't imported and can't be simply reimported. (Actor have to be manually deleted)
But it has nothing to do with actors, its a general problem. It happens also in other scripts and positions.
Best thing would be if XMM would give a better Error message with the exact error code. |

Posted - 28 Aug 2010 : 13:28:46 it would be nice to have error messages optionally logged (in an information window) but not requiring user intervention... that way we can do batch updates and not have to sit there waiting for the error but still know where it occurred. Because, right now, I write down the name of the movie and then do a single update on it after the batch.... right now I have 28 movies out of 140 that will need special help, that's A LOT considering my collection is almost 1,700 movies so that would be roughly 340 movies before I'm done...
I am reupdating them all after I deleted all the actors, their pictures, the movie's poster, etc. because there was a mess because of the (good) changes which created multiple images for the same thing... |

Posted - 28 Aug 2010 : 08:41:05 Hi Donnyj,
Probably depends on some actor's page. I will make an option to show this warning only one time, and then continue automatically without show it to user.
