Posted - 29 Nov 2010 : 14:47:49 hi.. thnx for all the great help. the forum solved most of my XMM problems.
i have a mysql question though. most probably it's very basic for you. i have a large xml file (98mb)with tons of foreign film information. icelandic actor names etc. so while importing, if i choose utf8, the importing stops after a while with a syntax error message.
At the beginning i changed the names of some of the films to make them compatible but when it comes to actors, it's impossible.
2 questions: is this a character set problem ? and if so, what should i choose to import the xml into mysql without interruptions.. it's been 2 days i'm trying to figure this out but no luck. mysql version 5.1.47 also there are 2 places for the ch. set. one is on the main screen (MySQL connection collation) and the other one on the import screen. i just wanted make sure i'm choosing the right one thnx in advance m./
