Ok now i'm getting frustrated.
The last films i put in using the imdb complete only took the first actor and nobody else.
I tried to continually update from the web, but no luck at all. It just started happening while i put in films in the database.
One minute it all worked, the next, nothing. So it ain't anything in my computer, like firewall doing anything.
I also tried updating info using the imdb (fastest) and some other moviescript. Didn't work at all.
And just now i tried to delete one of the films, and then put it in over again. That worked so i thought, am i gonna have to do this all the time? But no. I then put in yet a new film, '300', and once again, only 1 actor showed up. So i deleted the '300' movie from the database and then added it again from imdb complete. But this time it didnät work, still only got that first actor and nobody else.

/sigh...

hi
i added 1253 movies to the app

I will make a test to see what appens to engine and why freeze.

Thank you!
Prinz Posted - 21 May 2011 : 15:56:35
I don't need that many. Of course I don't know if someone for some reason wants more.

Importing that many images with magic script is also problematic. I did a test run with an imdb.com Actress and set the import to 1000 images for the test. After about over 250 images XMM freezed and I had to close it via taskmanager.

Hello Prinz,

I have put the maximum to 99... do you think its not enough?

Ale
Prinz Posted - 21 May 2011 : 13:01:46
Just to make sure:

The new restriction to 99 for the _ACTOR_COVERCOUNT_ is on purpose?

Not that is likely that anyone has that many images for an actor...
Alessio Viti Posted - 17 May 2011 : 11:54:34
Hello Prinz,

Strange, I have not set any restriction, I try to find the bug.

There is a "Bug" in Variable _ACTOR_COVERCOUNT_ on the Actors Card. The Variable is restricted to 49 for some reason.

It may be unlikely that someone has more Actor images, but I see no reason for this restriction...
JDommi Posted - 17 May 2011 : 10:51:07
Although that's a bug it is really a nice feature. And for the very most actors it already works great!
Prinz Posted - 17 May 2011 : 10:45:41
That is just a "Bug" in the Script. Just like I said: That function wasn't for public release, just to test the extra Image Function on the Actors Card.

The Script function isn't error resident and only takes one type (Unnamed Images) of Image. Your Actress has only 1 additional unnamed Image...

Problem of importing not every picture still exists...
I'm updating at the moment all actors from imdb with 4 additional pics. But sometimes there are less pictures although there are more shown on the the site.
Example: http://akas.imdb.com/name/nm0465269 - only one additional pic was taken.
KCWhiteKnight Posted - 13 May 2011 : 19:04:31
Thanks. That explains a lot.

Then my thought won't work for you guys. www.imdb.com is a lot faster here.

JDommi Posted - 13 May 2011 : 18:57:57
Have a look here, Chad: http://www.binaryworks.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3464&SearchTerms=akas.imdb

Not the reason. Here I only get a small part of my bandwidth from imdb.com. Probable the bandwidth for transatlantic IP's is restricted.

Why akas.imdb.com instead of www.imdb.com in scripts?

Because on www.imdb.com you get localized info depending on your IP-Location, only with the akas.imdb.com it's not localized.

I do have a fast internet. 32m download. 1g network card.

That leads me to a question to ask the pros. Why akas.imdb.com instead of www.imdb.com in scripts?
JDommi Posted - 13 May 2011 : 18:14:08
For sure, but it's pure envy
Prinz Posted - 13 May 2011 : 18:03:15
It's probable because he is in the USA... Here is also relative slow and the bottleneck isn't my provider...
JDommi Posted - 13 May 2011 : 17:47:41
Well, what kind of connection do you have?
I need for 1000 actors with 4 additional pics about 6 hours!!! Are you plugged to an IMDB server? *lol*
KCWhiteKnight Posted - 13 May 2011 : 17:40:58
I'm not having a bit of problem with the engine. It's smoking fast once it gets the data. I get dizzy watching the pictures flash by. LOL

Engine isn't bad. Bugs and tweaks take time to work through and document. It's like a work of art. Growing and changing. It's all part of the game when you develop software.

Only had two oops not related to this, IMDB had a bad actors page and one bad movie page which they are fixing. Got an actor with like 20 '@' then some what I call stray charcters like !(fjghfjslt then a bunch of blank lines which is sort of like what I was seeing on the Paul McCarty download. Strange cause it didn't appear in my browser when I went to the site.

Even got a response that if I find typos they fix those too. Nice people.

Alessio Viti Posted - 13 May 2011 : 16:59:27
I am really happy that finally this bug has been solved... 18.000 is a really good test, this means that the engine is not so bad

Thank you!
KCWhiteKnight Posted - 13 May 2011 : 16:58:12
Doing stress test. 18,912 actors downloaded no problems as yet. Site a little slow. Spot checking data imported nothing is jumping out.
