I've noticed that when I import some movies with a certain combination of letters in the title EMM "eats" some letters, for example if the movie name is freddy got fingered it appears like frdy got fingered "eating" the ED combination, also if the movie name is 2012 or 1999 it appears blank.

I have the same problem (posted under title cleaning problem). Simple missing stgrings (Penguin becomes Puin) strings are (almost certainly) title cleaning (eng in this instance) and you can find those strings in the file import panel. For a more worrying problem see that post

Do we already have April, 1st or is there a gremlin in XMM? *lol*
Only thing I can imagine is to check the automatic substitution of phrases in the option.
Please have a look at config -> title cleaning...
