Posted - 01 Dec 2011 : 11:36:39 Hi, Fields edited in the quick edit window do not always get written to the database. Current recurring problem is when trying to edit (change from default info to a reference eg. X 1234) a Catalog Number in quick edit window.
Seems to happen most often when there is only one existing entry in info. So this is what happens 1. Add a new text string in Catalog Number (value was info) 2. click a few other blank fields in case it encourages the update 3. Central column (list) still shows info in Catalog Number 4. Press refresh just in case but nothing changes (X1234 in Quick edit window and info in Central list column) 5. Click on line in Central list column and quick edit window Cat No changes to info. So the only solution is to Right Click and edit the entry from the central column(which is tedious if you have a lot of them to do)

Posted - 01 Dec 2011 : 23:17:37 Hhhmmm - I thought catalog No was a free form text field and not a field associated with a list. I thought lists were for fields like Status; Media; Language etc?

Posted - 01 Dec 2011 : 14:58:31 Should be easier when you first add the new value by managing the lists!? (I don't know the correct menu name at the moment) But in fact Ale should auto-add new values and of course they should be saved, too. |
