I am a new to XMM having just purchased a few days ago and would like some assistance with a few issues please. The queries are:
• When updating movies from the internet using the IMDB complete script everything downlods correctly except for the “goofs” info. I have checked the script itself and the goof (custom 10) option is set to download. • For some reason I cannot update the movie Avatar (2009) by James Cameron in my database. Every time I try updating the movie it automatically downloads the information for Avatar The Last airbender. This happened after importing the movie from another program and also when I tried using the Add Movies- Automatically update from internet option as well. IN the update option I have even tried using the imdb link (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499549/) but it still downloads the information for the last airbender. • In regards to the HTML cards is there a way I can change fields on one of the layouts e.g remove the studio / distributor information from the movie_bigcover template. • Also with the last few movies that I have imported the genre field does not seem to be getting updated correctly. Instead of the little pictures there is like a string of code(a onclick="(new Image()).src='/rg/tt-storyline/genre-1/images/b.gif?link=%2Fgenre%2FAction';" href="/genre/Action" itemprop="genre"). • Is there a way that the custom information in a script can be changed to download other information. E.g If I would like to replace Repository or AKAs Title with something like “Quotes” can this be done?
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks

Posted - 13 Jan 2012 : 19:54:06 The custom fields are "freely" changeable. In the options you can name them as anything you want. But the IMDB script and mostly all others are structured that way that these fields are equal for all. There are only few exceptions. The request to add more Custom fields are already on demand. |

Posted - 13 Jan 2012 : 19:41:58 Hi
I have managed to sort out the avatar issue by disabling the use of "direct engine import". I see the script with the fix for the goofs has also been updated and I am also already using this, works great :)...Thanks for the great support. I will go through the documentation for magicscript and learn more about the HTML cards. Just on the last point is there anything way to change the custom import fields?
Once again thanks for such prompt support.

Posted - 12 Jan 2012 : 20:49:19 Please remove the imdb link from Custom8 and import avatar again. Don't use the re-import with same script for. Additionally have a look at the advanced script options during selecting import script. There you can set the options for direct links. Means how to act if more than one movie is found.
You can create your own HTML cards as you like. You only need to know more or less HTML and javascript. Have a look at the Magicscript documentation. There are all the variables for the cards explained. |

Posted - 12 Jan 2012 : 20:30:09 imdb.com changed a few things the last few days on there site.
Genre is already fixed.
Goofs has changed and didn't noticed it yet. That has still to be fixed.
Avatar import works on my PC. |
