Posted - 20 Feb 2012 : 04:54:40 I was adding some movies to my database from a Hard Drive, During the process it flagged files (in green)and wanted to join them as a single movie(eg it tried to join all the films Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2 & Rush Hour 3).
I tried to use the clear join (right click button) but it did nothing, so I just went and cleared the join files field for the 2 files in question, after removing the link it showed that they were no longer joined and were just flagged to be entered a separate files, however when I went and hit the "Add files to database" button, the 2 check marks for Rush Hour 2 & Rush Hour 3 went blank and these files were not entered into the database as separate movies. When I went to scan in files from the Hard drive a second time it did not find these files, even though they weren't entered in the database the first time.
All I want to do is have the ability to override the program and not have it join files that I believe should be entered as separate movies.....Can anyone help
Thanks music4al |

Posted - 08 Mar 2012 : 14:30:34 Thanx for removing useless clicks.
The bug mentioned in the La Linea example above it still the same in 7223 |

Posted - 01 Mar 2012 : 16:44:29 ...And another small request. Now that you fiddle with this Scanner, could you please give it something similar to the "tag reading" that you have in Add Show? I always name my files "Director - Title - Year", it would be great to fill these fields accordingly. Right now I have to manually cut/copy/paste "Dir" from the title.
EDIT I Just noticed that you could this if you expand the available option in "Picture Mask" in General Settings. |

Posted - 01 Mar 2012 : 15:32:55 I test scanning a folder with 5 short files named "La Linea, vol. 1 - #xx". Scanner auto selects and joins the files.
When I just deselect (untick) one file (the third), it remains green (as if it's still joined), and it is imported with the rest of the files. Deselecting should mean DO NOT import at all, therefore it should also clear join.
Starting over, when I just right click and clear join the same file, keeping it selected, it changes color to white; all files are imported, this one as solo and the rest joined. This is obviously correct.
One thing that I'm not sure of, is about the joining. If the files are consecutive, it's certainly correct to keep them all joined in one. But when we have two groups by deselecting or clearing a file somewhere in between, maybe XMM should offer an option to select whether we want to import them as one or two groups.
Something else. If the Scanner is not closed, it remains open behind the main window. When I reselect it from Add Movies>Scan, it should pop up forward.
PS I have also noticed some strange behaviour with one specific file in this series, but fix these and I'll experiment some more.

Posted - 29 Feb 2012 : 18:57:36 Sorry, Alessio, it doesn't work in 7220.
Also not working the opposite: if I select to files and right click "Join", it imports 2 separate entries. |

Posted - 26 Feb 2012 : 10:25:36 Hello guys,
I have check the function just now and seem to works correctly.
I have a movies splitted in 2 parts, XMM automatically set it as "join".
Now, if I select the 2 rows -> right click -> clear join , XMM remove the join numbers (the rows became wight instead of green) and the movie are imported as 2 separate movies.

Posted - 25 Feb 2012 : 20:36:19 That didn't work either, by removing the number in the join column, it prevented the files from being entered in the database, when I went back to find those files it wouldn't recognize them in the directory. It was not till I renamed them Rush Hour II and Rush Hour III, that it didn't try to combine them and recognized them on the drive. |

Posted - 23 Feb 2012 : 07:45:50 Hello Guys,
I will fix this in the next release.
BTW, you can clear the join manually by yourself by simply remove the number in the column of Join...

Posted - 23 Feb 2012 : 07:32:45 That wasn't the problem...I tried various ways to stop it from entering Rush Hour 2 & 3 as part of movie Rush Hour, it finally got fixed when I renamed the file Rush Hour II and Rush Hour III instead of using 2 & 3, then I had to rename them back once they were accepted as separate films in the database. Kind of a round about way of doing things but it worked, I would like to see maybe a checkbox that can be used to distinguish between files flagged to be joined and and allowing ones that you want entered as an entirely separate file. |

Posted - 21 Feb 2012 : 22:47:53 check the duration value of the film entered. If it's way longer than the first file, then XMM probably merged the files anyway. |
