Posted - 12 Jun 2012 : 02:43:49 I encountered an Issue when importing 2 different Movies with 2 different Actors that share the same name. XMM creates an Entry for the Actor but the second one from the other Movie does not get his own Entry even when XMM is using the WebID to differentiate Movies.

Posted - 27 Jun 2012 : 00:12:30 When importing a new movie I use a chain of 2 scripts. The first imports from Amazon UK but does not include actors. This puts all the UK information into database. The second imports from IMDB, I have this set to not import over information already in fields, so it adds actors, directors, writers, producers, awards, trivia and synopsys etc, all the info that Amazon does not enter. If I set IMDB to import 8 actors, then it takes the first 8 actors listed and adds the to the actors table which does include the IMDB WebID plus a picture and actor info. I rarely have to add an actor manually. There is also a tool within Actor Cleanup plugin that will add the IMDB WebID, which might save some time, this was not available when I did all my actors It's true though, that IMDB doesn't always list the main actors at the top of the list, then this has to be done manually, but that's a problem with IMDB not the import script So to recap, all actors are imported through the new movie script |

Posted - 21 Jun 2012 : 18:50:10 Thats one way to solve it but it has to be done manually. Shouldnt the IMDB script import actors by their WebID and not by their name? It a lot of work to search for eacht actor/actress with same names and add the one the Script didnt import. |

Posted - 18 Jun 2012 : 23:42:49 I had this issue until I went through the complete actors database and gave every actor a WebID. As I get this info from IMDB i used the WebID from IMDB. As long as the movie has the actors listed including their correct WebID, and the two ID's match, then this has always sorted the issue. The last thing to remember is in the config.ini, which can be found in the root of the folder extremeMovieManager7, edit and about 20 lines from the bottom is a line that should read "UseActorWebID=True" Hope this helps |
