Posted - 12 Oct 2012 : 18:58:12 I'm tring to import from IMDb the information for a TV show:
Make Me A Supermodel (2008) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1159605/
I'm using XMM 7.2.3.6 with the latest script for IMDB.COM (TVSeries) For Rel.7. I just updated the scripts two days ago and that was when the problem started. Here is the header from the script:
#UTC#=1340190602 ----------------------------------------------- - eXtreme Movie Manager - - MagicScript Technology - - 2001-2007 Alessio "AleTsg" Viti - ----------------------------------------------- - Web : IMDB.COM - - Author : AleTsg/eb1 - - Date : 15/September/2012 - - Comments : Import All Information available - - of Series and Episodes - -----------------------------------------------
The script executes through the selection of the movie and then it begins to import the basic information from the main web page of IMDb. The first five people on the list of nine Cast members are listed in the import window. It's at that point where the application hangs and I get the following message:
eXtreme Movie Manager has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. [Close program]
Do you think this is a script problem or is this maybe something on the website? |

Posted - 07 Nov 2012 : 05:28:33 I am using XMM release 7.2.3.6. I opened the File > Options window. I don't see a Tree View Tab. Here is what I see:
Settings - General - Internet Connection - MagicScript - File Reading - Database - Title Cleaning - Custom - Grid colors settings - Simple Interface - HTML Card
I did click on the Custom item, but that showed only 11 fields with the field labels Custom 1 through Custom 11. There is nothing there to uncheck.
However, I did click on the MagicScript item in the list. There I unchecked all the check boxes, saved the changes, and restarted XMM. I then tried to import the TV Series "Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955)" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047708/
That imported OK using the following script: IMDB.COM (TVSeries) For Rel.7
I then went back to the Options > MagicScript window and re-checked the items back to the selections I had before and I restarted XMM. I then tried to import the TV Series "The Mob Doctor (2012)". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2215717/
I used the same script: IMDB.COM (TVSeries) For Rel.7
This time, the script ran through to import the first seven names of the Main Cast and then it paused. Then it listed three more of the Main Cast (for a total of ten names) and then there was a lot of hard drive activity. After a few seconds XMM displayed the message:
eXtreme Movie Manager has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Then XMM closed.
I then restarted XMM, went to Options > MagicScript and verified the settings were checked as I had set them (they were still checked). I then deleted the incomplete record for The Mob Doctor. Then I opened Options > MagicScript and I unchecked all the check boxes. I then saved the changes and restarted XMM. I then tried to import the TV Series "The Mob Doctor (2012)" again. It imported correctly with no error messages.
So somehow the MagicScript engine is not working correctly with the script, perhaps? |

Posted - 04 Nov 2012 : 17:13:30 Hi and thanks for the reply.
I'm afraid I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to do by your instructions.
I went to the View tab in the ribbon, clicked on the button "Show/Hide Available panels" and selected Tree View.
However, there is nothing there that looks like custom data. Perhaps I am in the wrong place in the application?
By the way: It just happened again. I tried to import the TV Series Arrow http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2193021/ I used the script "IMDB.COM (TVSeries) For Rel.7" XMM imports the information from IMDb up to the Rating = 8.5 Then the screen dims and I get the message: eXtreme Movie Manager has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
XMM does create the record in the database, because after I go back into XMM the record is there but it has no information other than the title.
So I can try your instructions to disable all custom data but I am unclear on how to do that. Can you provide some details? |

This means XMM is out of memory (RAM) or out of Resources, for example to many handles at once open. It has nothing to do with disc space. |

Posted - 27 Oct 2012 : 21:38:34 Hello - I have been out of town on business for the two weeks since I made the original post and so that is the reason for the delay in my response.
I have received the same result for many of the times (not all) that I try to import a miovie from IMDb.
Today I tried to import the following movies and got the same result: The Raven (2012): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1486192/ A Town Like Alice (1981): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081949/
I get an error message such as the one shown below. Please note that I have 445 Gb free storage space on my hard drive (total size = 750 Gb). The error message is only one of several that I get. Sometimes the XMM application will continue OK after I click on Continue. Sometimes it will encounter several more errors and then will close.
Here is the text of the error message:
Microsoft .NET Framework Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the applkication will close immediately.
Not enough storage is available to process this command.
Details: See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Posted - 13 Oct 2012 : 00:07:12 I also had a similar result when I tried to import the following movie from IMDb:
The Paperboy (2012) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1496422/
I am using the most recently released version of the script IMDB.COM (Fastest).
I started the script, then I entered the movie title and the URL from IMDb. The script correctly identified and selected the movie. Then it started to import the information from the IMDb website. Apperently at the end of import the application encountered an error. In this situation, the XMM application did not hang or freeze. Instead, I got several messages stating that an error had been encountered and I could click on [Continue] to ignore the error. I did that maybe 3-4 times, and then I got an error message that the application was going to quit. Then XMM closed.
However, after I re-opened XMM and went to the entry for that movie, all the information appeared to have been imported. |
