Posted - 19 Feb 2014 : 02:23:14 When importing movies using the device scanner, the movie name and year are added as new records, but that's as far as it goes. It does not start the megascript search for some reason?
From the 'Edit Page', I can manually run 'Update from Web' one movie record at a time and that works. I can manually run the 'Re-Update' if I first fill the 'Web' stuff. Or I can manually add new movies. This is tedious. Is there some obvious setting that would cause the megascript not to start at all? I have the script currently set to 'IMDB.COM(Complete).txt' January 31, 2014 Version. I am running EMM 8.2.4.0
I would actually like two additional functions that would work on a group of selected records (in Tools - Collection Maintenance - Movies/TV Show):
1) 'Update from Web' is what the device scanner import is supposed to do after it adds blank records. It would be useful to have an option to run a secondary script to capture other data for an existing set of records. The primary script name should not be changed.
2) 'Re-update' could be used to fill in missing data. More likely it could be used to find additional actors once the megascript actor option is increased. |

Posted - 19 Feb 2014 : 21:58:41 Thank you for your explanation JDommi. I did mean 'magicscripts'. I knew there was something obvious I was missing. I wasn't aware the power of the right-click menu until you pointed it out. I'm somewhat new to using Extreme Movie Manager. I was focused primarily on making a new HTML Template. |

Posted - 19 Feb 2014 : 07:14:19 Megascript??? I think you think of the automatic info downloading. That's an option on tab MagicScript: Update Movies/People Automatically in Background. You don't need the Edit Page for updating. Just select the movies in the Grid View and use the right click menu. Pay attention to separate movies from shows for updating. |
