Hi,

I've noticed recently that a lot of my covers will be linked to either the wrong movie, no movie at all or multiple movies, sometimes including the right one and sometimes not.

It's usually only a few and there's a set number of movies in between the cover and the correct file. The last time there were 5 covers linked to the wrong file and they were all linked to the file for the movie exactly 17 covers ahead. For example, cover 1,234 was linked to the movie file for cover 1,251 and 1,235 was linked to the file for cover 1,252 etc if you see what I mean.

Because there have only been a few each time I've just been manually correcting them.

However, the last time I added a few movies, updated via IMDB (Fastest) script and renumbered alphabetically by Movie ID (via the Tools>Collection Maintenance menu) it came up with a long error saying "Error saving database. The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain..." It tails off the end of the screen at that point so I couldn't read any more!

The funny thing is that it eventually did finish saving the database but now there are lots of covers linked to the wrong files, multiple files, no files etc.

Is there any way I can rescue my database of 2,000+ movies or do I have to start all over again? Not looking forward to that...

Just to clarify, these movies have been added a few at a time over a couple of years and there's never been a problem like this before until the past couple of weeks.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Although the covers are not "correctly!" named after a Renumbering they should be shown correctly! And the Episodes are also related to the correct TVShow. I just have tested it with a backup of my own database and "ID Renumbering (Sorting Alphabetical)".

The re-added plugin CoverManager is able to adjust the cover names to the MovieIDs. But only for Movies and TVShows without the episodes' pics.

*EDIT*
Anyway in my opinion the whole Renumbering seems to be needless. You always can sort the MainGrid to get the same effect.

Same happened here and also with TV Shows... Not only were the covers not linked to the proper TV Show but so were the episode photos. Then to top it off I noticed that the files for the TV program (example "24 - Season 1" were linked to "3rd Rock From The Sun"...Virtually it destroyed the database, just about all the series were linked wrong. Thank god I back up all the time and went to an earlier database, however all my work for the last week is screwed up. Here's one thing I believe is at fault, because i've noticed that when adding a new TV series, The database becomes out of order alphabetically for obvious reasons, I went to do an ID Renumbering (Alphabetically) via the Collection Maintenance section and all the files are now renumbered and alphabetically in order however upon closer look, the number on the Television_Cover and Thumbs are still linked to whatever was numbered first...example (if "Alias" has the Movie ID #7 and down the list you add "Above Suspicion" Movie ID #14 and do a sort and "Above Suspicion" now takes over the # 7 position and "Alias" becomes #9...There is no reconfiguration and hence the mixup with photos, also the links messed up as well. I now no longer care about the Movie ID and just sort by title, PS I'm using the latest version of XMM
