From time to time I have to add a Director or an actor. But instead of accepting the person there is an error-message telling me that I should might only add a person that is already in the database. Even trying to add this person before via "Add new actor" doesn't help.
I have re-install XMM to make it work. That's frustrating! So what to do?? |

Posted - 29 May 2014 : 04:50:52 This situation is not every day due to most persons are already in the database. I have nearly 5.500 (movies) and more than 30.000 (actors) entries in my database already, But under raw conditions some people are missing - and then this situation happens. It is anything that will be - let's say resetted - if XMM is newly installed or updated. After updating everything works fine again. So I do an update - even if not necessary as shown after using the "Check for Update" function in the help screen for 5 to 7 times in a month..
"Compacting and Repairing" the database doesn't help either... |

Posted - 28 May 2014 : 22:36:02 Are these not addable actors named like any person already in the database? If so you have the possibility to set somewhere in the options to add people that are already in database. But in that case you have the problem to show always the first entered person due to the search routine for actors. Best way would be to add a number/marker to that person. IMDB as example takes a roman number behind the name. |
