Posted - 19 Aug 2015 : 04:41:19 Hi,
I usually import a large number of movies at the same time and let XMM do its thing. However, more and more lately I get two consecutive movies come up showing the same cover in the database view but one of them does have the cover and one has no cover when I open up the movies for editing so I have to manually get the cover for the missing one from IMDB and add it.
For example, say I import Terminator 1 and Terminator 2 they will both show the cover for Terminator 2 in the main database view but when I open up Terminator 1 it will say it has no cover so I'll have to search for it, download it and add it whereas Terminator 2 will have the right cover in both views.
This seems completely random. For example, say I import 30 films in one go, 4 or 5 groups of two will have this problem while all the others will update just fine.
This has been happening more and more lately so I thought I'd ask if there was any way I could stop it since it's quite time-consuming to add covers manually.
Thanks in advance. |

Posted - 20 Aug 2015 : 11:52:34 OK. I've sent it to you.
What do you mean when you say "Change the displayed movie during import"? You mean choose a different title from the list than the top one?
Thanks |

Posted - 20 Aug 2015 : 09:11:17 Send it to me by email <myname> -at- arcor de. I think that it is a bug in XMM. I have recognized such behaviour sometimes on MovieYear. Especially when I change the displayed movie during import. |

Posted - 20 Aug 2015 : 08:08:58 It seems I can't PM or email you the screenshot. Is there any other way of posting it? |

Posted - 20 Aug 2015 : 08:04:27 Terminator was just an example. I can see it was obviously a bad one given what you say!
This happens with completely unrelated movies too so it's not just a 1/2 thing.
I have a screenshot of what happens but I can't attach images here, as far as I can see, unless I upload it somewhere else and then link to it.
I always manually choose which film the entry is referring to when importing to make sure it gets the right one.
If it's possible to attach images to PMs then I'll send it to you.
Sorry. Didn't know I had double posted.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. |

Posted - 19 Aug 2015 : 09:06:54 I never have recognized that yet and I always have updated a maximum amount of 100 movies at a bunch. The problem with T1 and T2 can be that XMM or IMDB recognizes a number behind the movie name and assumes to take the first one with a number: Terminator 2. Just try to import all your Terminator movies (in a fresh database) if that happens again and try to import them with Terminator without the no. 1 in the title. For the other movies that are imported incorrectly - I don't have any idea at the moment.
*EDIT* I have removed your second post as it was identical. |
