I have just noticed that XMM hasn't found some of my movies on my NAS.
I have used "Movies from Files (Device Scanner)", and as an example, I have "Back to the Future" 1, 2, & 3 on the same device in 3 different folders (named the same except for the 1, 2 or 3), all 3 are a .mkv files, with their own .nfo files created by Media Companion (for KODI). It has found 1 & 3, but not 2.
So, how can I fix/force it, or how do I find out how many more it has missed ?

Hello Guys,

This function to automatically "merging" files was born several years ago, when usually a movies was splitted in 2 or more files (like CD1, CD2 etc...)

There is a function inside XMM that compare the movie titles and mark it as "Same movie".

I think that now its time to disable this function automatically, maybe someone can reenable it from configuration.

I will do this in the next release.

Thakn you!

I fully agree with you but as I'm not evolved in programming XMM I can only give you the advice to write an email to alessioviti -at- binaryworks.it

But surely, merging sets is wrong, and gives the wrong status of your movie collection. I don't want it to combine part 1 & part 2, as they are different and seperate films.
Also, why does it only do this to SOME of the sets, and not all of them? and, in my case, why didn't it combine part 3 as well?
Even if this "merging" has been always there, it doesn't mean it's not a bug - I think it is !

This behaviour always was there and I don't think that Ale will modify it... but maybe he surprises us all

OK, I found that if I look at File Manager, Back to the Future 1 & 2 have the same ID number. I tried renaming the folder, film, .nfo, and details IN the .nfo and then using Device Scanner to sort them out, but nothing changes.
Anyway, I deleted the database, and started again, and now they are seperated. It's a bit of a "sledgehammer to crack a walnut" as a fix, and hope that XMM will be fixed to stop this happening again.

That's a problem with the program itself.
As in "ancient times" there were often 2 files for one movie XMM automatically combines part 1 and 2 to one movie.
Have a look between scanning and importing process if you are able to remove the merging of these files.
Otherwise you have to add those movies manually. Maybe it's possible to use roman numbers for the numbering.
