Well, did you have a look at the options?
Tabs General, MagicScript and DeviceScanner...

or for the 64-bit release: http://www.binaryworks.it/download.asp?file=extrememm9.0.1.0_64bit.exe
Just replace the release number "9.0.1.0" with one of the release 8. I don't know what the last one was...
But I really think that you should use XMM9. |

Go to the options and uncheck the "automatic import". Additionally uncheck the "automtic start of the device scanner".
But if you really wanna roll back to 8 - what I really don't advice - then change the release number in the download links. |

Downloaded EMM from website, installed, open and soon as I click on movie I get a message it stopped working and closes. |

For me the update out of XMM itself has made no problems. |
