Posted - 30 Oct 2017 : 09:45:11 I used XMM for several years and had to stop when I upgraded to win 10 two years ago, i tried to get some help in the forum but nobody answered my request for help, so I started using Kodi which is brilliant but lacks certain functions that XMM has. XMM installs ok but nothing happens after launch program. Nothing, no messages nothing. I am using W10 64bit on an SSD. Rarely have issues with anything. I would like to continue using XMM but I need to get it running again. I am the admin. Can anybody help? |

Posted - 20 Nov 2017 : 09:41:01 The satndard installation file of XMM is 32-bit. The is existing a 64-bit release but it has a few disadvantages and is therefor only used by few people with a very large database (>2 GB). Have a look here, too: http://www.binaryworks.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15296
To the error. Seems as if you have set an old script for automatically updating your movies. Check the option if automatically updating is activated (Options -> MagicScript) and if there is a standard script set for Movies, TVShows and people. |

Posted - 20 Nov 2017 : 01:17:36 I have the latest version of emm installed on 64 bit windows 10 in dell OptiPlex and it worked fine for days until now get startup message, “error downloading the web page.” Cant get rid of message by clicking either OK or cancel. Reinstalls “fine” except get error immediately. Although I have a 64 bit system, the installed xmm software is labeled (32 bit). I can’t find a choice point to pick either a 32 bit or 64 bit version. Comes with .Net 4.7 installed. So, having had great success, what might have gone wrong? |

Posted - 01 Nov 2017 : 09:07:14 Then your current .NET installation is the problem. Just ask google if you can find any hint... |

Posted - 01 Nov 2017 : 05:41:23 I wish I had a cxhoice with the .NET but it just says Installation will not occur. It will not install it and doesn't give me an option to override and install anyway. :( |

Posted - 31 Oct 2017 : 10:50:07 Well, a little bit more effort *lol*
NET framework: Believe me, you WILL need more than your "current" release! https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/9ee968e0-7fcc-4637-aa41-e7098803e365/reason-for-multiple-net-framework-folder-under-cwindowsmicrosoftnetframework?forum=w7itproappcompat
Documents: Since Win 7 the standard folder for XMM is "C:\Users\[PROFILE]\Documents\eXtreme Movie Manager 8". It's because of the UAC that installing XMM in the programs folder causes problems.

Posted - 31 Oct 2017 : 04:37:28 Nothing works unfortunately. My version of .net is more current so it doesn't install the one you directed me to. Not sure which "document" folder you are referring to as installer reverts to last used folder and that is always Program files..... I have never used a windows "Document" folder for anything, they just sit there and get ignored, my documents are on other drives to avoid disasters. I think I have tried them all but to no avail. Looks like I am stuck with Kodi. Thanks for your help |

Posted - 30 Oct 2017 : 12:46:09 For me XMM runs on the same conditions without any problems.
Download http://www.binaryworks.it/download.asp?file=extrememm9.0.1.3.exe and install the program in the given folder (documents). Start XMM as Admin (I don't have problems this way!).
Maybe you have to install additional programs like MS .NET framework 4.0 (32 Bit) if needed. |
