[reopened and edited for: Windows 8 Pro x64 final/RTM; XMM 8.0.2.1]

Even so I'm running the application in Administrator Mode (which BTW isn't a good thing in the long run) it still crashes randomly on exit.

Event log entry (example):

Doesn't happen anymore with 8.0.1.1 (running in Admin mode).

Great!!!

From 8.0.2.4 to 8.0.2.5 everything went fine.
Even the event log was happy ... no entry there anymore. Thanks, Ale.

Also, for quite a while there have been no entries regarding other "pseudo crashes" on exit so it seems this is now also a thing from the past.

Thank you... so it still report a crash when automatically exit for the Update...
yan00s Posted - 14 Nov 2012 : 19:24:06
Updating from 8.0.2.3 to 8.0.2.4 didn't show a change (same error message).

Thank you, I will fix in next release.

Under "normal" conditions it works now (8.0.2.2 and 8.0.2.3).

What I noticed during the Update from 8.0.2.2 to 8.0.2.3 that the closing procedure used for XMM by the automatically starting setup routine leads to a "dirty exit" of XMM. Windows 8 was nagging me that XMM crashed (most likely it didn't really crash). That's what the event log says (sorry for the German):

Anwendung: eXtreme Movie Manager.exe
Frameworkversion: v4.0.30319
Beschreibung: Der Prozess wurde aufgrund einer unbehandelten Ausnahme beendet.
Ausnahmeinformationen: System.NullReferenceException
Stapel:
   bei DevExpress.XtraWaitForm.WaitForm.Dispose(Boolean)
   bei a8.Dispose(Boolean)
   bei System.ComponentModel.Component.Finalize()

It's no biggie so don't put it on top of the issue list.

Hello Guys,

I think I have found a solution for this problem, the initial tests seem to work correctly.

I will try to upload the new release these days.

I have Just upgraded to win8 and I to get a crash on exit , I have tried with and with out administrator Mode and it still crashes on exit
Alessio Viti Posted - 04 Nov 2012 : 07:48:33
Hello,

Another user has told me that he has remove the "Run as administrator" option and now do not crash anymore on exit...

Please try first this... and then if doesn't work he has also add the option to "Run as Windows XP sp3"

Thats strange, because XMM is not really crashing, its XMM 8 that *think* that XMM is crashed.
