Posted - 15 Dec 2012 : 02:15:20 I don't know if this has been asked or not. I was wondering what happened to the update manager option to filter actors that had not been searched from the web, waiting for complete update, and without covers? It was easy to use this filter to udate all the actors that had not been fully imported. |

Posted - 20 Dec 2012 : 16:02:39 I think in the long run it would be much nicer to have an option to actually save and reload custom settings. We had this option once (in XMM7)... ...I'd suggest that the effort should therefore go into:
(1) reimplementing the save layout option for xmm 8 and (2) possibly adding a nice update routine for saved layouts to be used when default layouts get changed / extended.
For filters it may be sufficient to save / restore the <property name="MRUFilters"> values between updates. That's something users might even try for themselves. |

Posted - 20 Dec 2012 : 12:05:53 The fact is that when you made an upgrade you should not download the FULL release, but just the update.
I will work on this to be sure that you will not be forced to download the full release again.

One thing you could achieve by using the filter function as a work around. You can even save filters for later use (keep in mind that when you do a full install of an update the custom filters will be overwritten).
Example: Filter for missing <Web ID> ... it's rather likely that actors without an ID (imdb #) may need an update. |

Posted - 18 Dec 2012 : 18:42:08 I would also like that filter to allow me to remove the people that are not linked to a movie in my database. I seemed to have come across alot of people that have been downloaded to my database, but not in my movies/tv......It could be a case of that they were downloaded when I had the movie, but removed the movie and the people stayed behind. Either way, I would like to clean all that up (there are a lot!!). |
