Hello,

I really like the way the sample database looks and I want to adopt that format. I loved the way it exported to my website, very cool!

I have a few questions I was hoping you could answer.

1. How do I adopt the same settings from the sample database to the new one I want to create?

2. The program is removing dashes and periods from the movie file names that are needed for a proper imdb match. How do I correct that?

I have been using the following naming format for my movies and other movie management applications have no issues resolving the names properly:

movie name (year) [resolution]
A Beautiful Mind (2001) [1080p].mp4
Wreck-It Ralph (2012).mp4
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) [1080p].mp4

3. What script should I use and why are some of the scripts in yellow? It is very confusing.

I really like this program and if I can get a few basic things resolved, I will be thrilled. I would appreciate your assistance and patience.

Thanks

Hello,

I have been working relentlessly with xmm8 and have answered my own questions ;-)

This is an amazingly flexible and complicated tool, but for people like myself that curate their media collections like I do, it is worth putting the time and effort in to learn it.

I am having more difficulties than I expected, so I will start a new thread in the appropriate forum and hopefully become XMM8 certified

Thanks!
