Posted - 23 Nov 2013 : 14:41:27 I know I can find IDs that don't have movies attached to them, but what can I do with that information other than be aware of its existence? I can highlight entries, but none of the function buttons activate. The apply button seems to do nothing. I can right-click and delete the entries, but they are back when I run the tool again.
I'd like to fill in those holes without renumbering my entire collection. Is the entire purpose of the tool to find out how many holes you have so you can renumber when they get to be "too many"?

Posted - 23 Nov 2013 : 15:01:59 If you want to reuse IDs you've to do this manually: - check wich IDs are available with the "Find Holes" function (best leave the window open in background) - add a new movie item manually > switch into the full edit view where you can add data manually (the left button on the bottom...) - copy an unused ID from the "Find holes" results into the ID field in the top left corner
('fcourse you might want to fill out some of the other fields too before you finish.)
You can repeat that until no free IDs are left.
Previous versions of XMM had some function to assign the next free ID to a new movie. Maybe one day this will come back.
BTW: Better stay away from those renumbering functions ... you'd find quite a few posts in the forum where users are reporting how they messed up their db with it.
