Posted - 12 Nov 2016 : 21:58:01 Just copy the script and remove or skip the parts you don't want to be executed. |

Posted - 12 Nov 2016 : 21:19:52 This is fun, I do not remember when I started with XMM, but I think it should be 10 years or more. As for the data, I pass two Filmaffinity script first, which is very fast question of about 5 seconds per movie, so the posters I did not have in Spanish are put although many are missing that I have in Spanish and I put them by hand afterwards. After IMDB step with 12 actors but I have removed the options that I have already written, the script does the reading but not write, is something faster. I have had to falsify the part of soundtrack so that when looking for the findline jump to the next section, now I will be looking to falsify the parts that do not interest me to skip to the next option, to see if I reduce the time. |

Posted - 12 Nov 2016 : 17:34:24 Think of the time it has taken to build the whole database until now. I think rebuilding it again will take at least a little less time I have asked Ale to skip blocks in the script when data already exists for a field and the overwrite option is not set. At the moment the whole script always will be executed. Another trick for you could be to import the movie data again without full information. Then you can update the people's data later.

Posted - 12 Nov 2016 : 14:11:20 Well I decided to remove the actors and posters and put back the actors and the characters but only 12 actors ..... with a dedication of 1 hour and a half a day, it will take about 400 days ......
Maybe I is cheaper to learn visual basic |

Posted - 06 Nov 2016 : 21:40:42 What of the 12 players would have to know the principle of using XMM, the previous time he said, already had 4000 records, delete and replace .... ufff I've been trying to access, export, import, etc ..... clean fields for the gender division is very entertaining but it can be done. If it is true that it does not take 20 DB, it can be reduced to 10. Now I'll look like I can reduce movie actors, although I track an actor and sometimes appears below 12, but hey that checking the box marked and expand the actors in those movies is solved. As for the reduction, I think doing any macro or visual basic, sure you can, but I have no idea so I get to study the VB |

Posted - 05 Nov 2016 : 01:39:00 For my "small" collections there is only a devide between Movies and TVShows neccessary. And of course a limit of 12 actors without their filmography and awards. In most cases a limit of 4 or 8 actors for the main cast would really be enough. 20 main genres... wouldn't be the half enough? Action, Crime, SF, Drama, Comedy, Fantasy, Horror, Adventure, Martial Arts and Western. Music(al), Biography and Documentaries/Travel are optional for another database... Keep in mind that too many different databases will sometimes result in endless searches. As example the movies of "Jesse Stone" with Tom Selleck - are they better sorted as crime or as a series? Where the categorisation is not really clear it's always difficult to keep a plain and simple order. |

Posted - 04 Nov 2016 : 21:50:16 I'm thinking of a way to divide the DB and I thought of making a DB index, title, year, main genre, cover and actors only the name and photo. And then make a DB by gender, I have only 20 main genres, so I would have 21 DB, the system is to copy 20 times the DB with folders cover and rename and go eliminating the movies that are not of that genre. I have to think a little more this ... |

Posted - 03 Nov 2016 : 21:22:03 I don't really know. And it's needless to discuss as Ale surely don't change anything on that. |

Posted - 03 Nov 2016 : 20:37:12 If 2 GB but keep in mind that the DB has about 40 tables and the principal has more than 100 fields, clear to reaching the Gb slows down and gives exception errors and failures of system resources. That's what I've come to understand from what I've read, it is a function of the assembly, also there was one that said that up to 5 million entered records did very well with 10 million work and 17 million gave mistakes, but it was a simple and DB 15 fields. |

Posted - 03 Nov 2016 : 07:26:55 2 GiB is the limit of every Access version as far as I know. Therefor Access is out of date for every big database. |

Posted - 02 Nov 2016 : 21:44:12 I'm not expert in DB, but from what I've been reading, to change .mdb to .accdb or .accde, is simple with the same access, I've switched to accdb with a click, but no clear XMM read access after 2003. from what I understood is moved over 2GB sizes without memo fields and objects. |

Posted - 02 Nov 2016 : 20:38:33 Well, that's M$ Access.
I wonder if it would be a problem to convert to sql or if there is a problem on user side. I think programatically there is no difference except the database opening procedure. I have "played" with a Helium Music Manager database in SQLExpress myself but it was only reading and writing a few datafields. And I'm not really a database expert as I can say something to the difficulties... |

Posted - 02 Nov 2016 : 19:56:26 I have found that size does matter, at my age. I created a new database, adding records and behaves great, so will play split the database, create an index and 20 DB by Genres, for example . |

Posted - 01 Nov 2016 : 21:11:37 From what I understand the error is similar, mmm ... my DB is 950MB with 5400 movies and 96400 actors, I do not think it manages by xmm lo size SQLite, I believe, if so theoretically SQLite allows up to 2 terabytes. I'll try reviewing the features of Windows, which perhaps lacks something, |

Posted - 01 Nov 2016 : 18:26:18 Well, I don't remember. Maybe you're right... |

Posted - 01 Nov 2016 : 17:50:32 It is one that refers to the size of the DB? But they talk if not translate wrong, on the XMM 64b |

Posted - 01 Nov 2016 : 12:37:01 I think to remember that some time ago the same or a similar error occured for a user - not the one you mentioned above. Maybe you can perform a search for as I don't have the time at the moment as I'm @work. |

Posted - 30 Oct 2016 : 15:26:40 Does the older release work correctly? If not then there must be missing anything in your system. Anyway I have written an email to Ale if he can help. |

Posted - 30 Oct 2016 : 14:15:00 I have already done, but still leaving the errors, the debug exception and error exceeded the system resources ... I removed all the options file and folder that can slow XMM, I can not think of anything to look ..... And the computer will not be, I've changed, so I have reinstalled everything from scratch, is an I7 with 32 GB of RAM, SSD HD ...., what I have are pedals |
