What is this field? Is it some sort of ID associated with an internet database of movies? If I include this ID as part of a csv import, along with the title, will the scripts use it to find the movie faster and more accurately?

The Internet ID is related to the database id of the online database that you've used for data import. For example: using zhe IMDB script the IMDB ID of the corresponding movie is imported in the Internet ID field.

I don't know exactly, but it's a combination between this id and the website name that speeds up the search. I never have tested that as I haven't imported from csv yet.
Maybe it's enough to have the directlink...
