Dear,

In XMM 7 all multiple file entries were automatically recognized while importing.
This is not the case in XMM 8.

Please add this feature, it would take me weeks to import all my files in XMM 8.

Kind Regards

While running a test for another (potential) bug I checked if XMM 8 would suggest all required file joins and actually I think for my collection it found all of them.

It seems to be difficult to reproduce the issue you have.

BTW: My multipart files usually follow the same naming scheme which goes like [Movie Title (Year)].part##.EXT

This means for me that XMM will usually add ".part##" to the extracted movie title of joined files but this is easy to correct. And I do not have much multipart files anyway. It's a matter of one's "sourcing style" I suppose...

Of course it would be nice if XMM would offer some configuration option to teach it how to find connected parts. One day this may come...

No, I haven't interrupted the process, below a screenshot from XMM 7 which works like a charm.

I don't understand this at all

Have you interrupted XMM before it checked the whole folder? It seems that it computes parts 1&2 after it reads the complete list of files. And no, I can't reproduce it in a 300 files folder - it works ok.

Alessio, please take a look at this screenshot

Even with 300 files, it doesn't work, has anyone come across this issue?

Just tried to do it with a couple of files, then it works.
If i try it with 1800+ files, nothing gets recognized.

Very strange, it doesn't even detect it 1 time.

How can I provide you with useful debug info?

XMM 8 have the same procedure of XMM 7 while importing from hard disk. The "File Joining" function is active and should work, isn't it?

Ale
