Posted - 25 Jan 2011 : 21:20:56 HI,
1st I really like XMM, works like a charm on TV shows and Movies (whatever format they may have (DVD, .avi, .mkv, .wmv etc)) however what I really miss (I have ~ 1000 of 'em) is the ability to import, and get at least a short description, of documentaries (History Channel, Nat Geo, Discovery Channel, BBC etc) Right now I have them sorted by whoever made them, ie BBC - How Drugs Work - 1 of 3 - Cannabis or similar, but I have no clue what the show is really about. It would be so helpful if something like that could be incorporated (or maybe it already is and I haven't found it yet)
Thanks and keep the XMM coming

Posted - 27 Jan 2011 : 20:38:00 Only if you find the documentary on any site a script is existing for. Otherwise you must know a good site (sidereel is the only one I know) for docu infos and someone makes a script for. Think: There are single docus that have to be treated like movies and docus like "ice road truckers" that are almost like tv shows. So why shouldn't XMM not be able to handle them? Only difference is that there are no actors... and maybe some less infos. |

Posted - 27 Jan 2011 : 20:17:23 maybe I didn't make it clear enough, I'd like XMM to treat Documentaries the same movies are treated, ie select the movie on your hdd, click update and off it goes to imdb to fetch actor, plot, yada yada yada I understand there are no actors etc in a documentary however there is a plot (or whatever its called) what the docu is about. Is there any way XMM does that??
Thanks again for trying to help |

Posted - 26 Jan 2011 : 18:10:52 You can see the content of the documentary and if it's a series of docus you can see the single episodes and their title. Wasn't that what you wanted? But maybe I have misunderstood you... |

Posted - 26 Jan 2011 : 17:35:17 what am I supposed to see there? I can sign up for watching/tracking TV shows, dramas etc but I have no clue as to how that may resolve my issue (cataloging my documentaries that are saved to my HDD as *.avi, *.mkv atc) posted above. If it does I apologize for failing to recognize the solution But thanks for trying to help |
