Did a search on this and didn't find much. I collect all my movies in either DVD or Blu-ray format 1178 in total. In recent times most movies come as a triple play which includes a Digital Copy. The format in the database is either DVD or Bluray and the media type shows a picture of DVD or Blu-ray plus the number of disks.
Could it be made so that there is a tick box for Digital Copy and an option to show if the Digital Copy has been extracted and used. The media type to show
1x Digital Copy
1x DVD
1x Blu-Ray
If it's possible then great.

I agree with you on the key element of your request. There should be someway of indicating a movie or TV show is a local "Digital" file. However, there are several types of "Digital". You described one. Another is 'over the Internet' such as Netflix & Amazon viewing which can be captured to a local file. Yet another is ripping DVD's and Blu-ray's directly. And yet another is related to the iTunes model whereby a person can "Buy" a TV Episode or series. A file is stored locally but the license (DRM)is stored at iTunes. I believe all of these unique "Digital" versions should be handled in a better way.

XMM has a lot of places where information can be stored. In all of the cases described above, you still need the Blu-ray or DVD information in order to fill in all of the major information areas (such as Plot, Actors, Covers...) about the movie or show. I've been using the "Packaging" drop box to indicate DVD, Blu-ray, Digital Copy, Network Download, Ripped and so on. In addition, I've been using the local digital file format or type to indicated what Media the movie is. This is perhaps not the best method to use but it works.

Good Luck,
Norm

I hadn't thought of that it's a good idea. I'll try adding 1 or 2 digital copies and see if I like it.
Thanks Alessio

Thank you for the suggestion!

Its a good idea, I will try to find a way for implement it.

Actually I add 2 different movies, 1 for the phisical blu-ray entry and the second for the digital copy. Both as you can imagine has different bitrates etc..., and the first can be loaned to friends.

We will wait and see, I have made my own Media Icons and I have changed the Media Field to show DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray and Digital, Blu-ray and digital and DVD, and last DVD and digital but this is only for the Grid view. I would love the movie HTML card to also show this with disk numbers
This program still rocks though, and for the moment I will keep trying different things myself
