Why is the field "Media" in the movie tab has the same information as the field "Codec" in the Media tab?
Media should have only media type value like DVD-R,DVD+R, BLURAY,VHS...
when i choose a media for a movie (lets say DVD-R) and then read the file (scan the file information, codec...) the Media field changes to codec information (XVID).
The two fields also should have separate Icons.

Hello

I have the same Problem..

When XMM scan my device with MKV Files
they added at Media an at the Codec Colum the same value

V_MPEG4_ISO_AVC

In the Last Days i tested more Applikation.
I Think XMM is very good. But this Problem nervs...

For Example the M-DVD Prog make it better...
that Prog detect it is an MKV File and set it at the Medium Colum.
At Codec colum it output the Codec (for example .. h.264)

At Media Manager i added the Media MKV in X;; but it dont Works.. I must set it manuel.....

My don't match. all my files are written on DVD-R,DVD+R, DVD+R Dual-Layer media but the codecs are DIVX, XVID,x264...

In my case, they are both the same and they are both correct no matter what the difinitions used. Specifically my Movies are all digitized WMV3 data files which use the WMV3 CodeC.

Later,
Norm
