Posted - 12 Apr 2006 : 22:09:32 hi, i'm still using xmm 4.8.1 and before the change to 5.x i'd like to know:
1. can the new version be installed over the older? or the 4.x must be uninstalled first?
1.1 in the 4.x series when you upgraded or installed a new version, the control panel shows all the versions installed/upgraded, not just 1 program. is it right?
2. is xmm v5.1.x still in beta stage? in the forum xmm 5.1.1 is beta, but in the download page or main page there is no reference to that. 5.1.2 & 5.1.3 are "final" and stable releases?
Thanks.

1. No, it's better if you install the 5.x in a different folder. You can use both 4.8 and new 5.x without problems
can i share the cover folder? will be the same format?

1.1 Yes, will be the same also now, every upgrade will have an entry
there is a problem with that way. i have 2 entries in control panel: "xmm 4.7 and xmm 4.8 (update)". if i choose to remove the 4.8 update, the .exe is removed. so i have the entry xmm 4.7 in control panel, but the program doesn't work. i believe that if you have multiple entries, when you delete an update, the program should be restored to the previous version.

2. No, the 5.1.x it's no more in beta, but is a final release.
Ok, but "This is an ALPHA Release of new eXtreme Movie Manager" appears in the installation of 5.1.3.0.

Of course there are bugs to fix and features to implement, but as you can see I am working hard to fix all problems.
I know that. i know you work hard to improve it.
