Posted - 20 May 2006 : 17:39:20 Since recently I was using v3.8 of XMM. I switched to v5.2 and imported my database from the older version. I followed by adding around 40 new movies in the database and I noticed that now I have some (a lot) duplicate actors.
How do I get rid of those duplicates without actually breaking the link with the movies those actors belong to? They have apparently different ActorIDs and new movie entries point to newly added actors although already present in the database. How can I deal with that? Is there a way to stop this from happening? Is there an easy way to remove duplicates safely without affecting linkage. |

Posted - 08 Jan 2010 : 09:57:17 Hi Guys,
this function is inside the 7.0.6.0 release. In the treeview, actors section, you have special filters for find duplicates.
Thank you,

Any news about the removing duplicate actors function ? |

Good news! Thank you!
While it shouldn't be hard to implement this it might be tricky not to affect the linkage with the movies. Anyway, keep up the good work. |

Posted - 22 May 2006 : 11:40:21 Hi,
It's strange, because if Actors has different IDs they should be different actors, this is why XMM add in database when importing from internet.
At this time there isn't a function for find and delete duplicates, but I will do it soon.
Thank you!
