Posted - 30 Aug 2006 : 22:31:15 Hi,
whats the best way to handle more than one movie on one dvd-medium ? For example:
I got the DVDs of Speed and Speed 2 and have done a special dvd with both on it. Any Ideas how to manage this ?

Posted - 07 Sep 2006 : 11:10:56 Thank to Alessio and Mawu,
I think IŽll try it like this:
New Medium for DVD Speed, same with Speed 2. (nothing new, I know)
For the Special DVD IŽll make a new Medium - called "DVD Collection - Speed" - IŽve to do this, cause there will be a special Cover-Artwork.
Ok, now - thanx Mawu - DVD Speed and DVD Speed2 will get an entry at Catalog No. (Catalog No. = DVD Collection - Speed)
Hmmm.... think thats it.
Better ideas ? Jesse

I use the Catalog No to specify the dvd-medium, that means all movies on a certain dvd share the same catalog no. For dvd this works fine, for vhs the correct order on the tape is unfortunately not presentable.

Posted - 04 Sep 2006 : 15:40:32 Hi Jesse69,
There is not a particular "way" to handle this situation.
For DVD Speed 1 & 2 you can use the "Location" field (extra tab), the problem is for Special DVD. If you don't want add a new movie called "Speed & Speed 2" the only way is to use a custom field to save where this special DVD is located.
Let me know what do you think

Posted - 02 Sep 2006 : 14:14:54 Thanks avi,
but i dont thinks that that will be my way. For my Example - I got DVD Speed, DVD Speed 2 and one Special DVD with Speed and Speed 2. Now I wanna handle it like that : DVD Speed stays at my Workroom, DVD Speed 2 lays down at the Living Room and the Special DVD is at a (dunno the right word) "Spindel 2".
Any more ideas ?
Thanks a lot, avi !!! Jesse |

Posted - 02 Sep 2006 : 13:43:21 i use a custom field for the dvd-number. the dvd with two movies on it i put an 'a' or 'b' to the number like this: 1, 2, 3a, 3b, 4, 5, 6a, 6b ... so you can insert both movies to the database like they were on different dvds. perhaps this is an idea for you how to handle it. |
