Hey there, I got a new computer and giving this one to my kids so I need to take my database and put it on an external to transfer to my new internal hd. Whats the best way to do this?
I did a search but there seems to be a problems as it just takes me back to the front page of the forum.
I know this is going to be something easy and I just cant see it.

Hi,

You must copy the .mdb file and ALL subfolder where is located.

For example, if your database is called "mydatabase.mdb", you must also copy all subfolders called "mydatabase_cover", "mydatabase_download" etc...

Just take a look where your database is, you will understand.

I cant see any folder named "saved_database_cover" ??

Well, I dont want to lose my list or my photos. I guess after some bad experiences, it's my new phobia!
After a format or a HDD transfer, I should continue my movielist with informations and covers.
I dont wanna prepare whole list again.. So, I need the exact folder names which I must copy and paste to the new HDD.

thanx! :)

Hi
which folders should we copy exactly?
would "Databases" folder be enough to transfer the whole list and covers?
Or should we copy more folders?

when I was using another listing programs, I lost my lists and covers at the past, because I didnt copy the correct folders or database lists. And in once, I transferred the film list, but the covers were gone! You could see the list and all the informations about films, but there werent any picture!
So I had to prepare my list again. If you have 1000+ fims, be sure, its really boring.:(

Would you please tell us the "folder names" that we have to copy for transferring our LIST and PHOTOS? thanx a lot:)

I think kater just said that, in the end, it was very EASY to do it...
He thought it was something more complicated

Hard?

Of course you must copy the database and the images in the new PC. The images are not stored inside the database, this is why you have to copy these folders.

Doh! Why do I have to make something so easy so hard?
Thank you so much!

Hi,

Just copy the whole folder and subfolder where your database is located, and then paste it in your new PC.

XMM should automatically find all covers and images.
