hello there
after doing alot of attempts to try to sync my database between my pcs
i found that Microsoft Live Sync is the best solution

you chose the main folder and it auto sync all the contents

1 problem though
it only allows 20000 files to be in the main folder that's doing to be synchronized

and with more than 1000 movie in my data base the total number of files is about 38000 so is there a way i can separate these files

what i mean is what are the folders that are getting changes each time i make an update to the database so i can add them as the main folders ( the cant be a folder and subfolder )

Great! it's a good solution instead of building a function inside XMM.

Thank you!

I don't know this because I haven't test sync function, but it should do this.

seems great
i mean it will add a good feature

but will the DB file be synchronized every time ? i mean can the live sync software reads the size change ?

ahmed

Yes, this is true.

The only way possible is to store the covers inside the database, but I think the size of it will grow up too much.

I will make some tests...

What so you think?

yep you guessed right

maybe to change the file structure in future releases

i mean it will be cool to able to sync 2 or 3 main files and getting the full advantage of sync Databases

Hi!

Good idea to use the Sync function, I haven't think to it.

When you add movie to database the changes are made to the MDB file and the _covers subfolder.

When you add items to tv shows the chages are made in the _series subfolders and so on.

So, I think you have to sync only the subfolders of your main database. I don't know if this will be OK, probably you have more that 20000 files also woth this solution.
