Posted - 03 May 2009 : 07:20:16 Hello... I have a couple of complete TV series that I purchased on DVD. These DVD's are using the normal DVD file environment (VIDEO_TS, IFO, BUP & VOB files). Each DVD containes 4 or more episodes.
How do you go about bringing the information from the DVD about each episode in to eXtreme (6.8.3.0, using this... or 7.0.1.8, not using yet) without having to rip the episode to your Hard Drive? I'm sure there are some other things I haven't come up with but I'm hoping that other's might also be
Is the DVD considered a Movie or a TV Show? I know the Internet links available for more information, are different for Movies versus TV shows.
Thanks Norm |

Posted - 04 May 2009 : 01:34:23 Well.... not exactly the solution I wanted to here, especially since the TV Episodes are not available from the Internet and the data that is out there does not match the actual DVD's. What I have done is to rip each file to the HD and then run the Internet to fill in the blanks but it does require a lot of manual effort to get the HD files to match up with the internet data..
it would be a nice future feature to be able to link DVD episodes (in native DVD format) to an eXtreme TV show record. It's not a feature that I'll make request for right now since there are many other requests that are more important.
Thanks Norm |

In these cases the best thing (for me, but other users can have different point of views) is to add the TV Show and download all episodes you have from internet, without adding your DVD. You can specify, in the TV Show data, that the show is in DVD Media.
