Posted - 18 Jun 2009 : 23:23:09 I just started using Extreme Movie Manager and love it! But the one thing I would like to do, I can't figure out how to do. I use a Western Digital Media player to play my movies from a hard drive. It lists all the movies on the drive in a thumbnail view but ONLY if there is a thumbnail in the folder with the avi file and it is named the same! Is there any easy way to copy the thumbnail from the directory that it is stored in to the directory on the drive with the movie? The folder is named the same as the file so for example. G:\Movies\50 First Dates Contains 50 First Dates.avi 50 First Dates.jpg
This is how I set them up originally before getting this app and would like to automatically copy the corresponding jpg to the correct folder, but with the correct name. So there is a command to copy covers to the same directory as the movie, but how can we easily change the name to correspond to the folder\movie name? |

Posted - 21 Jul 2009 : 00:46:50 The UNC path could be the problem then....I can't remember my commands but wouldn't a subst command work to replace the UNC path with a Drive letter? You could do a bat file to temp rename the UNC path to a drive letter if it is just to do the one copy? http://www.computerhope.com/substhlp.htm |

Posted - 20 Jul 2009 : 12:23:03 Is this just a mapped network drive or are you using a UNC path? Try assigning a drive letter to your network drive and it should work fine. I have drive letters assigned and it works for me to external paths. And\Or it could be a permission issue to that file folder as it may require complete control of the folder to copy....Try to take ownership of that folder and then try it again? |

Posted - 23 Jun 2009 : 11:40:05 Hi,
Sorry for my late reply.
I will upload in few hours the new release 7.0.3.6.
On that release, if you go in the "Advanced tools" tab -> Covers special function -> Copy covers in the same folder of the movie,
XMM will automatically copy the covers with the same name of the movie file.
