I recently formatted my hard drive and forgot to make a backup of the EMM data (doh!) and unfortunately the only backup is quite old but it does contain over 800 of my 1200 movie collection.

I have tried to import the old database using the latest version but I've had no luck - I get a "3704 operation is not allowed when the object is closed...." error. I downloaded the old 4.8 version of EMM and that will load my old database.

Is there anything that can be done as I really do not want to re-enter all the movies again.

Many Thanks
John C

Thank you for your reply JDommi it made me take another look for a conversion option and I finally found it under the round button in the top left corner on the advanced screen. I'm not familiar with these new ribbon interfaces but I did remember an article I had read some time ago about the new Office interface which mentioned the round button. The conversion worked very well and I now have a new database with 835 movies in it, I just need to add the other 400+ and make a backup!

Thanks once again
John

Just try the import function: import from old XMM db (v4.8). That should do it, I hope ;)
