Hi, some months ago, I moved from Movie Collector to XMM.
In Movie Collector, my index was numbered by purchasing date.
When I exported my database, all went well.
But today, I done a false manipulation.
I used the fonction, "renumerotate ID films" and my index is now sorted by alphabetical order. And no edit/undo option available !By chance, my "purchasing date" order is still there, when I click on the right column.
Is there a way to apply the sorting order of the "purchasing date" column to the "ID film" column ?Another question, when I exported my Movie Collector database, the columns seen/not seen and the imdb note were blank. Today, I corrected the seen/not seen column, but is there a way to do a quick update that will import only the imdb note ?

Thanks a lot ! I switched from MC to XMM because MC don't use imdb anymore. I was a little confused by the complexity of XMM, but able to learn by myself, until today, that's why i'm posting to this forum !

Hi Alessio,

Thanks for your prompt answer.

One strange thing: the date in the "purchasing date" column, is the same for all the movies: 30/12/1899.
When I was trying to get the "ID Film" order back, I used the "repair database" option. But apparently, it destroyed the data in "purchasing data", because it was then sorted by alphabetical order, like "ID Film".

Yep, it works when I re-import the infos, but I got to do this with more than 2000 movies... So it takes a lot of time: choosing the script, choosing the right title, etc. I tried to double-click on the "note" column to edit it manualy, but when I do this, it open the whole edit box, the manipulation is to long to do this with such a number of movies.

So if I'm right, the solution is to don't use the repair option, and if I got the courage: to edit manualy "ID Film" to get my order back, and to update the movies for the imdb note, little by little...

If you see a solution, let me know !

Hi,

I am sorry but there isn't a way for renumber by purchase date. About the IMDB note, I think you can re-import the movies again in order to fill this part of database.

let me know,

Ale
