Posted - 14 Oct 2011 : 19:28:06 Try resetting the associations in KMplayer. Launch KMplayer then press F2, in Preferences go to Association/Capture. Select Association tab and click select all then click Apply to System.
If Media Player is still playing the *.vob files then it would mean that Media Player association is still set to that player. See if the above works first, then we will look at Media Player. Do you have the full dvds on your hard disk or just the *.vob files. If you have the full dvd then have EMM link to the VIDEO_TS.IFO instead of the *.vob file, that way the DVD will play like it would if it was in your DVD ROM drive.
There are utilities to switch of your region code problem. On my system i have AnyDVD running in the background which i think stops the region code check or makes your DVD ROM drive region free. There is also a small utility call DVDRegionFree which does the same thing.

Posted - 13 Oct 2011 : 21:31:40 I am trying to use KM player in place of Windows Media Player. I have it set as my default player for *.vob files. If i go directly to my hard drive and play the file it uses KM player but if I use XMM's play button to play the file it starts windows media player. The only reason that I am doing this is to prevent certain file from giving me a region code error. That only happens when I play the files from my hard drive. I can create a DVD and all of them play perfect. Not sure what else to do. Thanks for any help that can be provided. |

Posted - 10 Oct 2011 : 23:27:51 The default player should be whatever one you use for the file type you want to play. I have KMplayer set too play everything on my system, so i click play in EMM and KMplayer will start. It should be the same for DVD, your program you use should the one that EMM starts.
