Posted - 27 Feb 2012 : 09:23:44 I am new to the eXtreme programs and to this forum. I have done searches but unable to find the info I need. I would like to get a barcode scanner, and would greatly appreciate the following info:
1. Suggestions as to a good barcode scanner ... I use Win7 64bit.
2. The documentation says "scan the Barcode with a common Barcode Scanner and then import all information automatically from Internet." Would the scanner come with info on how to scan into a text file or something like that?
This is completely new to me, so again, I really appreciate help, suggestions, etc. |

Posted - 06 Mar 2012 : 01:08:16 I'm surprised nobody has answered this question so here goes A USB bar code scanner, bought on the high street, usually emulates keyboard strokes so It installs as a keyboard HID device, WinXP Win7 32bit or 64bit doesn't matter Once installed, stick the curser in the field you need to populate then beep onto a bar code. All this will do is enter the bar code number into the field. This number can be searched from the internet, through the scripts provided, to download the right info for your film. Thats all a there is to it You could always enter the bar code number by hand, see what you think of the info the scripts scrape from the internet (IMDB) etc....Datalogic Heron is a very good USB scanner from Amazon but not the cheapest |
