Posted - 10 Mar 2012 : 16:30:24 Hi!
In previous versions, the file scanner used the name of the containing directory as movie title. Now (Version 7.2.2.3) i cannot find that feature anymore - i can just deactivate "use filename as title" in the options which is not the same? |

Posted - 19 Nov 2012 : 02:28:12 A bit of a follow up on this... The "Set Title like folder name" after Device Scan does seem to be working 100% of the time. However, when you do that Title Cleaning is ignored. So not a perfect solution. |

Posted - 19 Nov 2012 : 01:40:26 I am having the exact same issue as dude69. No matter what settings I pick it always tries to use the file name.
In Options - Device Scanner: I have tried both "Get Folder Name from LAST Folder of Select path" and "Get Folder Name from FIRST Folder of Select path"
In Options - Device Scanner: I have turned on, and off, "Recursive Search Movies"
In Options - Device Scanner/Additional options: I have tried checking and unchecking "Set Title Like Filename"
I have had "some" luck with the "Set Title like folder name" suggestion however.
I am using: version 8.0.2.5
Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?
Thanks!

HI Alessio,
it doesnt work for me. It doesnt matter if the option "Set movietitle like filename" is checked or uncheckd or what the option in the filescanner is set to (first or last folder) -> in all cases the filescanner returns the filenames as title. I attached some pictures :) Version is 7.2.2.5

Posted - 04 Oct 2012 : 17:56:52 Please try this:
Let Device Scanner find your movies, then select it -> right click -> "Set Title like folder name"
Please let me know what happens.

Posted - 04 Oct 2012 : 17:55:24 Have you set the option to take the folder name? You can set it to take the first or the last folder as name. Just have a look at. |

Posted - 04 Oct 2012 : 17:51:06 I just tried it with v8.0.0.17 and it still doesn't work. XMM is useless to me without that feature as ALL my movies have correct foldernames only :( |

Posted - 11 Sep 2012 : 20:37:33 This also does not work for me when i scan for movies on *.mkv and *.iso movies....it seems like it takes the name of the *.iso files instead of the first or last folder name ...with ripped dvd's it looks like it has got the folfer name but i'm not sure... |

Posted - 05 May 2012 : 07:03:50 I am also missing this feature. I organized my collection based upon the folder name. Actually it seems to work on some of the files, but not all. Basically I need to select all during import to ensure it uses the folder name. Also photos that could be used as covers in previous version aren't working in the new version either. Many of my covers have japanese characters which i think may be a problem, but that isn't the sole reson as many covers that work contain japanese characters in the file name. ERROR DETECED ON COPY FILE: is the error The image is contained in the the db cover folder but doesn't display in Cover Manager or the program. Figured it out... Had to turn off the IRFan view. Still missing half my covers and have to manually input them now. Lots of manual work to redo the database with the upgrade. |
