Hi guys, I'm really proud (as it is said! :-)) to share with you what my week end of hard work have produced!
I was looking for a method to look trough my film collection on a smartphone or tablet and to share it with friends and relatives and even to consult all my database outside home.
So I directed my efforts towards a web solution, creating a dozen of little pages in order to manage and show to everybody who access these pages, all my database.
You can see what I'm talking about simply following this http://www.lodesani.org/film%20database/moviemobile.html. (Italian language for obvious reasons)

- The voice are: Alphabetical order, Cronological Order, Divided by Genre, News, and Search.

I've tested with Samsung Galaxy S (smartphone). If you have an iPhone or a tablet, please, leave your feedback on this forum!

This is completely free but you have to make a little hand work at the beginning, before use it.

You need a web space to upload all the pages (600k) and all the film information (it depends on how big is your graphical info) and a valid web link to access the microsite (you can use also a subdirectory of your own site).

The system is based to a non eludible two conditions:

- You need to have filled the field of Catalog Number of all your films by a progressive number (eg. 100101, 100102, 100103 and so on).
- You don't have in your title, Original title, Actors, Producer, Writer, Year or Director fields any special characters out of UTF-8 range (here you can find more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTF-8, because XML doesn't like this. (or if you don't have you can do it easily before using my pages).

If you have all this 2 condition satisfied and if you like my job, you can go on with my explanation on how to use this system.

Only for the first time:

You need to export all your film with XMM and old export manager with the movie card for the web (LodeWebCards.php) and rename all this files using a file renamer program (eg. http://www.sherrodcomputers.com/products_FileRenamer.cfm) in order to produce a list of file called like is own Catalog Number (it's easy if you leave all the exported file in alphabetical order and use a progressive number starting from your first Catalog number in the file renamer program [just two button to press]).

Then you need to process the database of your films (usually situated on your hard disk in (yourpath\eXtreme Movie Manager 7\Databases) with the file CreateXML.php in order to obtain the XML file filled with all the information taken from your database.

Then you have to upload all this file on your web server and you can consult your collection everywhere, even on the sofa in front of your television to decide which films your are going to see this night without switch on the computer or use a paper list.

If you are interested in this system let me know and I'll be very happy to send all the files and to follow you during the first set up.
Of course all is absolutely FREE and you can delete some parts, change, manage, adapt all the files to yours requirements whitout any previous information or autorization.

Bye, Fabrizio.
