For a very long time the IMDB scripts haven't handeled some special danish and some scandinavian and german characters properly.
It's about the following characters:
æ/Æ, ø/Ø, å/Å, ä/Ä, ö/Ö, ü/Ü
This problem is related to all imported fields and especially for importing of actors. An example:
Uncorrect import:
Name/Character/ID
Erno Muller/Hr. S/rlang§0618143
Should be:
Erno Müller/Hr. Sørlang/0618143

I found a bit more complete conversion table. I will try first make a complete table and after that i at them to all scripts.
It would much simpler if magic script had a (File-) include function like most programming languages. One could simple make one File with all conversions and simply include it in all Scripts with one line.  |

At the moment i done it only for the imdb and thetvdb. dvdempire was an unrelated change.
I will try to change the rest of the scripts, but with the other scripts i must additionally first check if there are all the conversation commands in place. |

Great Prinz, but would be even greater if you would modify all scripts that way :P
As many other scripts do not substitute every special character.

Only if Alessio takes the changed script as new base for future changes.
Script Files are always replaced during the update.

Thanks a lot Prinz - that worked like a charm - pure magic. No more errors in actors names. I've also checked the other imported fields and those are correct too. 
Will this change be saved for future updates of the IMDB scripts ??

Many UTF8 Conversions were missing or incorrect.
Some Data was even imported in the incorrect Database Field because of that. So deletion and reimport of is at least many times mandatory to get the correct Data.
Added/Corrected the Conversions form an official conversion table (and a bit regex magic in a text editor)

Well, that's a problem.
I haven't checked the actors on that behaviour. I only had a few on movies and episodes containing those chars. On that all worked fine... even if the title has to be "corrected" the links to episode and pics worked okay.
After work I will have a look if I have such actors and how the behaviour will be.
But I'm confident that this is only an affect in output as long as the special char(s) don't contain the paragraph sign... |

Hi JDommi - thanks for your answer - that sounds terrific, but when I see the imported data on the Crew tab (in quick edit view) my example is imported as:
Name: Erno Muller
Character: Hr. S
ID: rlang§0618143
where it should be:
Name: Erno Müller
Character: Hr. Sørlang
ID: 0618143
I assume, that the wrong information is imported to the Access database. At the moment I don't have Microsoft Access installed on my PC, so I can't check the imported data in the database.
Another example:
Name: L
Character: rke Winther Andersen
ID: Katrine§1163057
should be:
Name: Lærke Winther Andersen
Character: Katrine
ID: 1163057
So I can't see how I can avoid a re-import of the data or edit manual until the IMDB scripts are changed.

Well, I don't have tested all chars - only the special german characters:
ä => ä - ö => ö - ü =>ü - Ä => Ä - Ö => Ö - Ãœ => Ü - ß => ß
For these I have just sent Alessio a javascript routine for the HTML cards.
The routine replaces these chars (or string parts) by the wanted equivalent. So you don't have to re-import all data again.
The other chars like æ/Æ, ø/Ø, å/Å can easily be added to the conversion list.
