Hello,

I recently purchased a new system and decided to rebuild my XMM DB from scratch. In doing so I came across a problem with the IMDB.COM script for TV Shows.

Basically the script only imported the first episode of a series and then nothing else happened, it said it had completed the importing.

I have imported this season using earlier versions of the script so I was quite amazed that it would now stop working.

Its always possible that I did something incorrectly during the process. To help determine if I did, I've listed the detailed process I used below.

Thanks,
Norm

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
DETAILED PROCESS TAKEN TO REACH PROBLEM
I'm currently using XMM 7.0.6.3. Along with all the scripts from that release.

1) I was successfully able to import all 10 season into XMM from the folder where, I have converted them to Computer Files.

2) The Tree View of the Database shows under TV Shows, Stargate SG1.

3) I click on the TV Show Database line which place the Stargate SG1 on to the Main Grid.

4) I double click the Main Grid entry for Stargate SG1 and that brings up the ADD/EDIT Show Information.

5) I click on the Episodes tab to verify all episodes are listed.

6) Now here is where I've tried a couple things. I have tried going to the Update From Web tab as well as selecting all of the episode and then going to the Update from Web tab. The results are the same.

7) Once the MagicScript Importing Engine window shows up, I select IMDB.COM (TVSeries) for Rel7.txt and then click on Start

8)The next MagicScript Import Engine screen shows, under Currently Searched Title, the Stargate SG-1 with the Movie ID of the Main Grid entry for this series (no episodes are listed)

9) The right side of the MagicScript Import Engine screen quickly lists the Search Results for: IMDB.COM (TVSeries) For Rel.7.txt and under that it shows 'Stargate SG1' (1997...

10) by single clicking the 'Stargate SG1' (1997... the lower left side of the MagicScript Import Engine screen shows a web page from IMDB.COM that contains the main series information as well as web links to each of the seasons (I've tried the links to the seasons and they are valid and do show information about each episode in that season).

11) returning to the right side of the screen, I make sure the entry that I had clicked on in 9) is highlighted. Then I click on the button to Take Selected Links.

12) the small window titled eXtreme Download Monitor G3 pops up and does a brief set of downloads and stops with the color status block being the color green and below that it reads Downloading...0.00 Kb di 0.00 kb and no more downloading occurs after that.

13) the right side of the screen now shows a window, which has a window heading of Title Found. Within the windows it has a system generated line that reads ---- List of Episodes Found, Select ALL you want Import and Add in Database. Under that is shows only the first episode of the first season, which reads Children of the Gods(Season 1, Episode 1: )...

14) After selecting that first episode and clicking on the Take Select Links button, there is another brief download made by the eXtreme Download Monitor G3 and some information about that episode is briefly shown on the right side of the screen. The small downloading monitor window disappears.

15) The MagicScript Import Engine window now shows the message Import Completed!! You can CLOSE this Window Now. The only button on the bottom of the right side, which is now available is the Close button. Once clicked the windows disappears and I now again can see the ADD/EDIT Movie Information (Stargate SG-1) windows.

That's it. It appears the information is on the IMDB.COM web site, its just that XMM's script is not finding it or using it. I'm pretty sure I was doing everything correctly but if I'm not, I sure hope someone can point out what I'm doing wrong.

WORKS GREAT!!!! Thank You so much... I tried to follow the script in the Script Editor but unfortunately I could not get enough information out of the Editor to do any real debugging.

Thanks again,
Norm

Please try this correction, it should work with all IP's.

I just found out, that depending on IP Location the IMDB-Site has a different layout. Tested with US-Proxy... Layout is not the same.

And i tested: If i put a US-Proxy in EMM the imbd.com has the Problem. without the Proxy and my normal german IP it works without a Problem. That soles at least the mystery why my tests worked and you have that Problem.

I think I've found the problem with the IMDB.COM(Rel.7.txt Script. The web page for the "Stargate SG-1" series is not correctly formated according to what the script is expecting.

Specifically, the Stargate SG-1 main page actually lists EVERY episode on it's main page. The other series' I've checked do not contain each episode with a brief synopis of the episode along with the URL to each episodes detail web page. In addition, the tag line Season: on the main web page lists all 10 seasons but they are not links to URL's for each season's individual web page, they just link to other areas of the Main Page where that season's shows are listed.

I'm not a programmer and using the MagicScript Editor is a serious struggle. I don't even know where to even begin to make the needed changes for this to work.

So if anyone is willing to help me get this working, I'd GREATLY appreciate it.

Thanks,
Norm

Very strange like i sad. It tested Stargate SG-1.

New Database, Imported Files (all 10 Seasons), then used IMDB.COM (TVSeries) for Rel7.txt Script. Imported everything correctly.

So i doubt that it is a Script-Problem.

For me imbd.com(TV Shows) is working, just tested it. Some Data is incorrect but it's working. But i never use it normally, i'm using thetvdb.com

Is it working if you import the data via the script without importing the Files first? Maybe the problem lies if the Files are somehow incorrectly imported by EMM.

Please try to import The show and save it. After that you can add the episodes for that show...
It's a little complicated but for me it's the only way, too.
